Working on the aim to provide the best healthcare facility to the rural areas of Punjab, a free medical camp was organized by our Lifecare Foundation team. This camp was made possible with the association of Shri Guru Ramdas Sewa Society, Nawanshahr. It was held on the 26th of September 2021 and was a great success. We organized it to provide free body checkups to the people of Nawanshahr and cities adjoining it.
People generally visit pathology labs near their houses for their routine tests like Blood Tests and Sugar Tests. It generally costs them a huge amount of money when tested in private laboratories. Lifecare Foundation always comes forward for the people who cannot afford body testing inexpensive labs by organizing free medical camps at various locations. This was not the first free medical camp by our team. We have conducted many such camps all over Punjab since their establishment.
The free medical camp at Nawanshahr conducted the following four profile examinations-
- CBC (Complete Blood Test)
This test is done to monitor your overall health as a part of a routine checkup. It helps to detect disorders including infections, anemia disease of the immune system.
- Renal Function Test / Kidney Function Test (RFT/KFT)
It is a kidney function test used to screen any acute and chronic kidney diseases. In these tests, blood or urine samples are used to identify kidney problems.
RFT is suggested if the doctor wants to know the working of your kidneys which can also be known from signs and symptoms or you have a condition that can harm your kidney like diabetes or HBP.
- Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC) Test
AEC is a test that measures the number of one type of white blood cells called eosinophils. These become active when you have a certain allergic disease. For the examination, a blood sample is taken to count the number of eosinophils-white blood cells.
- Blood Sugar Test
It is a procedure that measures the amount of sugar or glucose in your blood. It helps to diagnose diabetes inpatients and those who already suffer from diabetes can use this test to manage their condition. Blood tests are also done to see if there is any sign of prediabetes.
These four profile tests can give a precise overview of a person’s body. These can help to diagnose a maximum number of diseases and the treatment can be done accordingly.
This medical camp at Nawanshahr lasts for around 3 hours from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Around hundreds of people from Nawanshahr, Phagwara, Jalandhar and Ludhiana came to take advantage of this free medical camp. They get their bodies checked and diagnosed for any prevailing disease in their body as the number of patients suffering from these diseases is increasing at a greater speed in Punjab.
The Lifecare Foundation is trying its best to provide good health facilities to the people of Punjab. They are working on ‘Mission Sehatmand Punjab’ by arranging free camps all over Punjab. We believe that our society needs more such free medical camps to provide people with world-class health care facilities.
